GoodByO

On 17th and 18th of October, the kick-off meeting of the European project GoodByO (Multi-commodities microbial-driven BiOrefinery based on food-processing industry wastes, biogenic CO2 and bioprocess wastewaters), in which the CIB also participated, was held in Turin. The meeting was hosted by the Italian Institute of Technology, the project leader. During the two days, each partner reported on its activities and structured the work for the coming months. Within the project, the CIB participates as head of communication and dissemination activities, as well as providing support in other working groups as an expert in the field. The project is funded by the Circular Bio-Based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) and the partnership consists of 10 international partners. GoodByO aims to develop a next-generation biorefinery to supply new bioproducts from the ChainCraft BV plant, exploiting its gaseous and liquid secondary streams to implement innovative microorganism-based supply chains. One of the most interesting aspects of the project is that each technology developed within the project can be implemented in both existing biorefineries and anaerobic digestion plants.
